All Leveler for May 2026--Alex S!

1. How long have you been doing CrossFit? What got you started? I first started CrossFit back in 2015 at CrossFit Barrie. I had some breaks along the way, but I originally got into it to get fitter, stronger, and more confident. It is still delivering on all three.

2. What aspect of our core values of authentic, driven, and inclusive do you relate to the most? Why? I relate most to ‘authentic’ because I’ve learned that showing up as my real self — with all my flaws and strengths — builds the deepest connections and the strongest growth. At the gym, no one walks through the doors with an ego. Everyone is equal, focused on getting better and lifting each other up. Surrounding myself with that kind of authenticity has helped me become who I am today, and it’s exactly why I love being part of this community

3..What do you most look forward to when you come to the gym? I look forward to training with like-minded people who show up real and push each other every session. The workouts are tough, but the laughs, encouragement, and conversations with members and coaches turn it into something I genuinely enjoy, it is the community that keeps me coming back stronger each time.

4. What is your favourite memory at All Level CrossFit? My favourite memories at All Level CrossFit aren’t one single moment — they’re the everyday ones. Showing up, training hard with everyone, having a laugh, and the support from the members and coaches. Those consistent good vibes and small wins keep me coming back.

5. What goals have you set for yourself in CrossFit that you’ve successfully achieved? What are your current goals? After dealing with lower back issues, my goal was simply to show up consistently and stay injury-free. With the coaches’ help scaling movements, I went from barely deadlifting 95 lbs to lifting much heavier while staying healthy — that was a huge win for me. My current goals are to master double unders. I know they’ll take consistent practice, and I need to take more time to get them and master them.

6. What advice do you have for someone who’s on the fence about starting CrossFit? Go for it — don’t let anyone tell you that you need to be fit first or that CrossFit is too intense. CrossFit is truly for everyone, no matter your age, fitness level, or starting point. The community is welcoming, no egos, and everyone is just focused on getting better together. If I can do it, anyone can.

7. How has your experience at All Level CrossFit improved your life outside of the gym? My experience at All Level CrossFit has improved my life outside the gym by building real confidence and resilience. Overcoming my lower back injury through consistent training taught me to show up authentically, ask for help when needed, and keep pushing forward. The no-ego community also made me more positive and supportive in my daily life.

8. How has CrossFit helped you improve your life outside of the gym? CrossFit boosted my confidence, resilience, and energy outside the gym. Consistent training now lets me keep up with my energetic toddler every day.
