Sept. All Leveler Lynn A
  1. What got you started in CrossFit? How did you hear about it?
I got started in CrossFit just under five years ago. I had started running with some
friends and colleagues in 2010 which was the beginning of my fitness journey. I had
added in some small group fitness training and then a close friend “LC” begged me for
months to join her CrossFit gym. “I know you will love it” she said. Using a Golden
Ticket from LC, I completed foundations and the rest is history. She was right!
  2. What is your favourite part about coming to the gym?
There are so many things that I love about coming to All Level. The most obvious, of
course, is the impact it has had on my physical health and fitness. I have learned a lot
about myself and the importance of staying physically active. I have learned to do
things that I only thought other people could do. What truly keeps me coming to the
gym is the community of people at this gym. I have made some wonderful friends
along this journey. The kindness, respect and overall love that exists at All Level
inspires be better physically and mentally.
  3. What is your favourite CrossFit movement? Least favourite?
My favourite movements are anything to do with a bar bell. That being said, my least
favourite movement is the Squat Snatch. There is just something in my brain that will
not allow me to figure out this movement and make it more fluid.
  4. What are your goals in CrossFit?
Some of my goals in CrossFit are
 to be consistent, stay healthy and injury free,
 manage my hypoglycemia and nutrition so that I eat right fueling my days that
    include the daily WOD’s,
 continue to identify and work on weaknesses, and
 work on building strength and mobility for long term health.
  5. How do you explain your newfound obsession with CrossFit?
My obsession with CrossFit has translated into my obsession with my personal physical and mental health. The variety and diversity of the programming offered at All Level has been the necessary spark in my fitness journey. I love that everyday is different and it challenges you in so many ways. I am someone who can talk myself out of anything. I sign up for classes in advance which keeps me accountable regardless of the WOD. I have always envied people who are so committed to their fitness. In retrospective, I think I might be one of them now.
  1. What advice do you have for someone who is thinking of trying CrossFit?
Just try it! As long as you try it then you can truly decide if it is the right fit for you. It is a program that is 100% adaptable to what you need personally. Embracing functional fitness at any stage on life will only add years to your life in the most positive ways.
  2. What does CrossFit mean to you?

  3. How has CrossFit helped you improve your life outside of the gym?
I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason in life. In the past five years I have unfortunately experienced some personal losses. I truly believe that I did as well as I did as a result of my friends and the community at All Level. I go there knowing that I will leave every time feeling better and more able to handle life’s hurdles. Being greeted by
the fabulous coaches and other athletes with big smiles and ‘HUGS’, sharing stories, some tears and laughing together is healing for the mind, body, heart and soul.
